Demystifying the medical nexus process
We begin with a full medical record review. Once we confirm all necessary records have been received, most Nexus Letters are completed within 3–5 business days. Standard turnaround is 7–10 business days. Need it faster? Rush processing is available within 48 hours for an additional $150.
No provider can guarantee VA claim approval — and any company that tells you otherwise is not being honest with you. A Nexus Letter provides strong, evidence-based medical documentation, but the VA makes the final determination based on your complete claim file. Our goal is to give you the most thorough, defensible medical opinion possible to support your case.
This is where secondary service connection comes in — and it's one of our specialties. Many conditions don't connect directly to a service event but are caused or aggravated by a condition that is already service-connected. Common examples include sleep apnea secondary to PTSD, depression secondary to chronic pain, or knee arthritis secondary to a service-connected hip condition. If a direct connection doesn't exist, a secondary connection often does.
No. Atlas Veteran Medical is a private, independent medical consulting practice. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department of Veterans Affairs in any way. We do not work for the VA — we work for you. Our opinions are independent, objective, and built entirely around your claim.
Every Nexus Letter produced by Atlas Veteran Medical is a full Independent Medical Opinion. Pricing is based on whether an in-person examination is included.
