Michael Warren, APRN-CNP

Founder & Lead Clinician

Michael Warren's career is defined by direct, hands-on care for veterans in the moments that matter most. After seven years in the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center ICU and extensive work as a VA C&P examiner, he built Atlas Veteran Medical to bridge the gap between raw experience and credible VA-standard medical evidence. Michael holds dual board certification and licensure in Oklahoma and Texas. His clinical background spans family medicine, cardiology, pulmonary, men's health, and over 5,000 VA disability examinations. Every opinion or Nexus Letter he produces is individually researched and directly addresses how VA raters read evidence - grounded in authentic clinical reasoning, not shortcuts. Veterans working with Michael receive honesty, transparency, and the benefit of his rare perspective as a clinician who has operated on both sides of the VA claims process. At every step, his mission is to serve as a direct advocate for your health and your claim.

Frontline Care for Veterans

Caring for veterans at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center was more than a job—it was the foundation for everything we do today. For seven years, we stood at the bedside in the VA ICU during the hardest moments veterans face, shaping how we view their long-term health challenges.

Over a 12-year clinical career spanning family medicine, cardiology, and pulmonary care, we transitioned into serving as VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) examiners. This role gave us firsthand insight into how raters evaluate medical evidence and why legitimate claims get denied. Having operated on both sides of the table, we founded Atlas Veteran Medical to provide the precise, clinically defensible evidence veterans need and deserve.

A Veteran-Focused Clinical Advocate

Navigating a VA disability claim is an uphill battle when your story is filtered through someone who has never worked inside the VA system. Our years as VA ICU nurses and C&P examiners give us a unique understanding of the evidentiary gaps veterans face every day.

Having spent thousands of hours reviewing files as examiners, we know exactly what gets claims approved and what falls short. We write every Nexus Letter and Independent Medical Opinion to the exact standards required by the Board of Veterans Appeals. By bringing clinical depth and the precise language of the VA system to your case, we ensure your claim is never overlooked due to generic, boilerplate wording. You get a partner dedicated to clinical detail, because you deserve evidence that works as hard as you did.
